DAY 1 : Arrival in Leh
Upon your arrival at Leh, our representative will receive you with a warm welcome and escort you to your hotel. Once you finish your check-in formalities and are well-rested, you can visit the local bazaar to buy some Tibetan handicrafts, silver jewellery and Pashmina shawls. In the evening, you can also take a healthy walk back to your hotel for an overnight stay and dinner.
DAY 2 : Excursion to Sham Valley
Begin your day with a healthy breakfast at your hotel. Later, you will be heading to Sham Valley for a day tour. There are multiple sightseeing places in Sham Valley, you will be visiting Gurudwara Pather Sahib, Magnetic Hills, Confluence of the Zanskar and Indus, Alchi Gompa and Ladakh Hall of Fame. The Gurudwara was constructed in memory of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The holy place houses a rock that resembles Guru Nanak’s back and many devotees come there to seek blessings. Then come the Magnetic Hills, which is very renowned amongst tourists. It is a cyclops hill, here vehicles do not go down but move up. You will then visit Confluences of Zanskar and Indus, where two rivers meet. Indus, with hues of green and Zanskar with shades of blue, meet right at Nimmu Valley. They are distinguished by their colours and their confluence is a sight to witness. You will also visit Alchi Gompa, a complex of Buddhist temples. The Alchi Monastery is said to be the oldest of all and also the most famous. Before you end your day tour in Sham Valley, you will visit the Ladakh Hall of Fame. This museum was built in memory of the brave Indian soldiers who lost their lives fighting for India.
After a tiring yet fun-filled day, you will return to your hotel for a goodnight’s sleep and some delicious dinner.
DAY 3 : Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass (160.3 km. / 4 hrs. 43 minutes, Height 10,000m)
Today you will be taking a road trip from Leh to Nubra Valley via Khardungla Pass. So, have an early breakfast and keep your luggage ready to leave.
Khardungla Pass is the highest motorable road and there you can also enjoy a camel ride. The spectacular views of the surrounding will amaze you.
Later, in Nubra Valley, you will also visit Diskit Monastery, Hunder Village and Panamik Hot Springs. After you have checked in to your hotel and are well-rested you can leave for your sightseeing tour.
Diskit Monastery is also known as Diskit Gompa and is the oldest monastery in the valley. It belongs to the Gelugpa sect of Tibetan Buddhism. The architecture of the monastery is something to adore. You will then visit Hunder Village, known for its sand dunes, cold desert and Bactrian camel rides. The village also houses a medicinal plant known as sea-buckthorn. The village is also a famous trekking spot. Next up on your tour is Panamik Hot Springs. This spring is located at the Siachen Glacier 10,442 feet above sea level. It is known to have medicinal properties and hence you would require a permit to visit the spring. Once you finish with your sightseeing tour, you can head back to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.
DAY 4 : Nubra to Pangong via Shayok River (140 km. / 6 hours, Height 4,250m)
On Day 4 you will be travelling to Pangong Lake from Nubra Valley. Your road trip will be via Shayok River. So, after your breakfast at the hotel, you can leave for your next destination.
Shayok River originates from the high altitudes of Rimo Glacier. The water of the river is crystal clear and its scenery feels like a beautiful painting that has come to life. You must visit this river to feel relaxed and away from your daily routine. After a visit to the river, you will head to Pangong Lake. Once you reach your campsite, get settled in and take some rest. In the evening, spend some leisure time at the lake and enjoy some quiet time with your family and loved ones. End your day with some steaming hot dinner and an overnight stay at the campsite.
DAY 5 : Pangong to Leh (222.9 km. / 5 hrs, 22minutes, Height 3,500m)
Start your day with some healthy breakfast at the campsite and then leave for Leh. Upon your arrival in Leh, reach your hotel and complete your check-in formalities. Once you are well rested you can leave for your sightseeing tour.
In Leh, your first destination to visit is the Thiksey Monastery. The Tibetan architecture of the monastery is its highlight. It also houses the Maitreya Temple, which has a 15-metre high Maitreya Buddha statue, which is said to be the largest statue in the region. Your next destination is Rancho’s School. It is known as Druk Padma Karpo School but is famous by the name 3 Idiots School. The school became famous after the climax scene of the movie 3 Idiots was shot there. It houses the funny electric shock bulb spot too. Later, you can head back to your hotel for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 6 : Sightseeing in Leh
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, leave for your sightseeing tour in Leh.
The first destination you will visit is Tso Moriri. It is the largest high-altitude lake in the country and is accessible only during the season of summer. The lake offers a scenic view of the snow-capped mountains surrounding it. Your next destination is Shanti Stupa. It is famous for its white dome and is a Buddhist monument. It holds the relics of Buddha that were consecrated by the 14th Dalai Lama. The architecture of the stupa is something to look out for. The last destination for the day is Leh Palace. Also known as ‘Lhachen Palkhar,’. It is a 17th-century royal palace and a major tourist attraction of the region. It consists of nine-storeys and is a dun-coloured palace. The museum in the palace is one of its highlights too.
Post this tiring day, head back to your hotel for dinner and a night stay.
DAY 7 : Departure from Leh
